Welcome to Vani Knowledge Studio. By downloading, accessing, or using our desktop application and website, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. Please read them carefully.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing Vani, you agree to abide by these Terms. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, you may not use our application or services.

2. User Responsibilities & Data Security

Vani is primarily a local, offline-first application. This means:

  • Data Storage: Your notes, mind maps, and files are stored locally on your device. We are not responsible for any data loss due to hardware failure, accidental deletion, or software corruption.
  • Backups: It is highly recommended that you utilize the built-in OneDrive or Dropbox sync features, or manually back up your "Vani" folder located in your Documents directory.

3. Artificial Intelligence Disclaimer

Vani utilizes artificial intelligence (both local via Ollama and cloud-based via Google/Pollinations) to generate summaries, flashcards, quizzes, and mind maps.

  • AI models can hallucinate or produce inaccurate, biased, or incomplete information.
  • You agree that Vani is not liable for any academic, professional, or personal consequences resulting from the use of AI-generated content. Always verify important facts independently.

4. Premium Courses & Payments

Through our website, we offer premium educational courses.

  • All purchases are final. Refund policies (if applicable) will be stated clearly on the checkout page of the specific course.
  • You may not share, distribute, or resell your course login credentials or the course materials. Doing so will result in immediate account termination without a refund.

5. Prohibited Conduct

When using Vani and its associated services, you agree not to:

  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code or API keys from the application.
  • Use the app to generate or distribute illegal, harmful, or abusive content.
  • Attempt to breach the security of the website or the app's integration with third-party cloud providers.

6. Third-Party Services

Our application integrates with services like Wikipedia, Wiktionary, Wikimedia Commons, Microsoft (OneDrive, Edge TTS), Google (Gemini, gTTS), and Dropbox. Your use of these integrations is also subject to the Terms of Service of those respective platforms.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Vani Knowledge Studio and its creators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, or any loss of data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses resulting from your use of the app.

8. Modifications to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify users of significant changes, but it is your responsibility to review these Terms periodically.
